The Board of Supervisors convened with all members present, passing all motions on the agenda. Two community members addressed the board during the meeting.

Mike Fitzwilliam was the first to speak, representing the Hilda Formby Hoffmann Memorial Board and serving as President of the Genealogy Club in Picayune. Fitzwilliam presented each supervisor with a binder containing their family history and records. He requested funding for major repairs to a building donated to the memorial board.

The second speaker, Darryl Webb, addressed his exclusion from the previous board meeting. Webb stated that this exclusion violated his First Amendment rights. He also reported being arrested for disorderly conduct and failure to comply with law enforcement officers’ commands, claiming his Fourth Amendment rights were infringed upon due to a search of his phone. Additionally, Webb inquired about the requirements for installing a power pole, noting that his previous request had been denied.

The board acknowledged Webb’s complaints but indicated it could not respond substantively because Webb intended to pursue legal action against the board and county. The board stated it would take his complaints under advisement.

The meeting concluded with a public hearing for the 2024 Tax Assessment Rolls, with no one in the public voicing any concerns.
