Please note that Picayune Item prints on Wednesdays. All obituaries, photos, and payment must be submitted and received prior to 2 p.m. the day before the obit is printed.

• request a vacation hold;

• receive your newspaper.

Corrections

As a matter of policy, the Picayune Item will publish corrections of factual errors that have been printed. The corrections will be made as soon as possible after the error has been brought to the attention of the newspaper’s editor, who can be reached at 601-798-4766.

Alexander Moraski is a  sports enthusiast from Gainesville, Florida. He grew up in Gainesville and attended the University of Florida, earning a degree in Journalism focusing on Sports and Media. Alongside his degree, he also pursued a minor in sports management to broaden his understanding of the industry.

When he's not busy with his career, Alexander enjoys watching sports and spending quality time with his dog, Britta, a Black Mouth Cur. Sports have always been a significant part of his life, and he finds great pleasure in following various sports events, whether catching a game or staying updated with the latest news and analysis.

With his sights set on the future, Alexander dreams of becoming a Public and Media Relations Manager for a professional sports team. He recognizes the importance of effective communication and building strong relationships with the media and the public. Equipped with his education and genuine passion for the industry, he is determined to succeed in this role and make a meaningful impact.

In his journey, Alexander holds a deep appreciation for the value of community journalism. He firmly believes that a strong foundation must be built to excel in any field, and he seeks to contribute positively to the growth and development of the sports community.
