Graveside Services for Donald Beecher Sommer, 81, of Slidell, La., who passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, in Slidell, will be held Friday, January 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2014 from 10-11 a.m.at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Father Michael Snyder will officiate at the service.

A native of Canton, Ohio, Donald was a Purchase Order Agent for Ingall’s Shipyard and a Korean War Veteran where he served in US Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willliam H. Sommer and Pauline Stlingenbauer Sommer.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 48 years, Lana Henley Sommer; his sister, Sandra Dominick and husband Sam; his two brothers, William Sommer Jr. and Ronald Sommer and wife Darlene.
