Funeral Services for Edward Lavern Spence, age 78, of Carriere, Mississippi, who passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, will be held Friday, May 18, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Rolling Hills Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Friday, May 18, 2018 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Rolling Hills Baptist Church. 

Burial will be in Rolling Hills Baptist Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Barry Lee will officiate the service.

A native of Picayune, Mississippi, he was retired from Coast Electric Power Company and a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church. Lavern enjoyed his farm and farm animals. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Spence and Lucille Phillips Spence; his sister, Ruth Spence; and his granddaughter, Marisa Jones.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie Davis Spence; his children, Ronnie (Paula) Spence, Regina (Randy) Jones, Toni (Donnie) Osborne, and Theresa (Larry) Jones; nine grandchildren, Donnie (Laci) Osborne, Timothy Osborne, Sara (Jonathan) Gill, Jimmy Spence, Jason Spence, Rebecca (Corey) Peters, Eric (Kellie) Jones, and Maranda (Chris) Williams; numerous great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Ray (Pat) Spence, Steve (Shirley) Spence, Kenton (Brenda) Spence, Benny Joe Spence, Judy (Shot) Mitchell, Sue (Terry) Amacker, Voncile (Bob) Gordon, and Patricia (Terry) Shaw; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
