The Poplarville School District will host an employment recruitment fair on March 8 to fill empty positions.

The fair will be held at the Poplarville High School cafeteria from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. that day.

The fair will provide candidates interested in employment within the School District with an opportunity to meet with District staff and administration.

Superintendent Carl Merritt said the fair will provide a chance for certified teachers or college graduates seeking to acquire their certification to meet with members of the school district.

Merritt said the job fair will feature representatives from the transportation, food service and substitute teacher departments who can meet with potential job applicants.

“We are trying to put ourselves out there, talk to individuals and give them an opportunity for employment with us for some of the openings we have,” Merritt said.

The superintendent said the job will give applicants an opportunity to get an idea about how the District functions.

“The first impression is important for someone who is planning to work with you and we want to share with them the successes that we’ve experienced here in Poplarville,” Merritt said.

Applicants are expected to bring a resume to the job fair.
