Funeral Services for James Ogene “Gene” Boldon, age 84, of Fordyce, Arkansas, formerly of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home. 

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Everett Geis, Sr. will officiate the service.

A native of Rison, Arkansas, he served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Gene was a retired Chief Engineer in Maintenance at Crosby Memorial Hospital and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Picayune. Gene was a loving husband, father, Pawpaw, uncle, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burless Ogene Boldon and Maudie Zera Studdard Boldon; his 1st wife, Carol Ann Boldon; his grandson, James Ogene “Brandon” Boldon, III; and his sisters, Emerline Gibbs, Bernice Riggins, Nadine Jones, and Patsy Geis.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth Bennett Boldon; his children, James Ogene “Buddy” (Sherry) Boldon, II, Ann (Steve) McDonald Sr., and Dr. Billy (Treasa) Boldon; his 8 grandchildren, Steve (Amanda) Rodgers, Stephen McDonald Jr., David McDonald, Kenny McDonald, Brook (Bill) Rhodes, Becca (Miles) Billings, Brant (Emily Ray) Boldon, and Emilee Ann Boldon; his 3 great granddaughters, Avery Rodgers, Olivia Rodgers, and Laci Billings; his brother in law, Rev. Everett Geis, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.
