Chosen to parent this humble and loving spirit; Patrick Terrance McCree, Sr. and Monica Erin Lewis Haralson. Patrick “Duke” McCree, Jr. was born on November 16, 1994 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He was baptized on June 11, 2000. Patrick was a man of integrity, leadership, and bravery. He was a part of the youth department at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Picayune, Mississippi until he became a member of Amanda Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Wiggins, Mississippi. Patrick also was a member of the Picayune Community Choir under the sponsorship of Rev. and Mrs. Robert Landor, and directorship of Minister LaShunda Hopkins
Patrick’s love for sports was extraordinary He played AAU Basketball in New Orleans, and traveled extensively to meet the challenges of the game. The early part of his academics, Patrick was educated in the Picayune School District. After relocating to New Orleans, he became a Crusader for life. He attended Brother Martin High School, where he played basketball and graduated in May 2013.
Patrick earned a basketball scholarship to SpringHill College in Mobile, Alabama. During his sophomore year, he decided to join the United States Army Reserve in preparation of his future. He was employed by Texas Roadhouse Restaurant. Patrick was also an entrepreneur. He used the skills he acquired to build his online shoe store.
Patrick transitioned from earth to Glory on November 3, 2017. He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alvin Lewis; his paternal grandfather, Reese McCree; his aunt, Patrice “Bell” McCree.
Patrick leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Monica (Joseph) Haralson, his father, Patrick (Karen) McCree, Sr., maternal grandmother, Bernadette S. Lewis of Slidell, LA, paternal grandparents; Manuel and Leola Coleman of Picayune, Mississippi; his brothers, Darryl Ford of Slidell, LA, Patrick (PJ) McCree of New Orleans, Louisiana, his sisters; Dominique McCree of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Glenodola (Joshua) Lee of Tennessee. Patrick had several siblings by marriage; Kelton, Deanthony of Gulfport, Mississippi, Angel, and Ashley Haralson; April and Dedvin Magee all of Picayune, Mississippi. He maintained a bond with his siblings; each in their own unique way.
Services will be held for Patrick T. McCree, Jr., 22, of Picayune, Mississippi on Saturday, November 12, 2017 at 9:00 a..m. at East Jerusalem Baptist Church. Rev. Leslie Blakley will officiate at the service. Rev. Brian Dees is pastor. Other services will be held at a later date.
