Funeral Services for Yvonne Bass Whitman Sherrer, age 102, of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017, will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home. 

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Poplarville, Mississippi, she was a retired Office Manager for Mississippi Power Company. Yvonne was also a Justice Court Judge. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Yvonne was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Carl Bass and Nellie Mae Smith Bass; her first husband and father of her children, Charles William Whitman, Sr; her second husband, J.B. Sherrer; her daughter, Amy Priscilla Geer; her brothers, Glyndol Bass, Elwin Bass, Don Bass, and Charles Bass; and her sisters, Arlene Myatt, Nelda Richardson, and Joyce Mitchell.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Charles Whitman, Jr, and wife Marie, and Tony Whitman, Sr, and wife Tyrona; four grandchildren, David Whitman (Christal) Geer, Alexia (Christopher) Miller, Rachel (Marshall) Thompson, and Tony Whitman, Jr; one great grandson, Courtland Pearson; her sister, Ruth Gill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
