Poplarville’s star running back Austin Bolton has so far proven unstoppable in the beginning of the 2017 season, and demonstrated that talent again Friday night after rushing for 236 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries. Teammate Roosevelt Raine also had a big night, rushing for 158 yards and a touchdown against Heidelberg.
Despite this effective performance, Poplarville Head Coach Jay Beech was still not satisfied with his team’s performance.
“We had 513 total yards on offense and only scored 33 points. With a bunch of penalties, we’ve got a lot of things to clean up before we get into district play,” Beech said.
