Poplarville resident Alicia Near is working closely with Pearl River County residents to meet their life insurance needs.
She joined New York Life Insurance Company about two months ago, but brings 10 years of sales experience to the table.
With licenses in Mississippi and Louisiana, she covers the Pearl River County and New Orleans area.
New York Life has been offering life insurance and other policies to Americans for more than 170 years.
Each type of policy offers specific benefits to the policyholder and can cover a number of life’s situations, such as end of life expenses that Near said can cost as much as $15,000.
Near can help clients pick out annuities to ensure the policyholder doesn’t outlive their savings and long-term care insurance to protect their quality of life should age, illness or injury prevent them from caring for themselves. Near said she can also help people find the right whole life insurance policy that can be used to borrow against for large purchases or help fund retirement. While many people may have life insurance with their employer, employee whole life insurance can cover end of life expenses even if the policyholder leaves their current job.
Potential clients can meet with Near at the office in New Orleans and she is also prepared to meet with potential clients within Pearl River County either at their home, or in a public setting.
Once someone becomes a policyholder, Near said she continues to meet with that person at least once a year to ensure their needs haven’t changed, and if they have she can help them find the best policy.
“It’s really fulfilling to know that we’re able to help people,” Near said.
