Edward Derbigny, Jr. was born August 31, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1977, he relocated from Picayune, Mississippi to Columbus, Ohio, where he worked as a professional truck driver.
On November 14, 2016, at the age of 65, he was called from labor to reward while in the care of the Kobacker House in Columbus.  Edward was predeceased by his mother, Norma Lee (Bates) Adams-Mingo, and father Edward Derbigny, Sr.
Left to cherish memories of Edward include his loving wife, Donna Jean Derbigny; children, James Spencer of Columbus, Ohio, Kimberly Robinson, Zipporah Derbigny, and Edward Derbigny, all of Picayune, Mississippi, Alex Burney Derbigny and Alexis Derbigny, both of Dayton, Ohio; eight siblings including brother, Kenneth (Vickie) Adams of Columbus; stepfather S. L. Adams, aunts, Shirley Mae (James) Thomas and Elizabeth Wilson; uncle David (Besie) Adams, all of Columbus; friend and mother of children, Sheryl Burney of Dayton; sisters-in-law, Lenora Carson, Bernetta Ivory, Janice (Keith) Harris, and Jacqueline Jackson, all of Columbus, Wanda
Jackson of Illinois, and Cheryl (Anthony) Burns of Tennessee; brother-in-law Dwight (Diane) Jackson of New York; dear family friend, Ollie Lane; very good friend and neighbor, Melvin Hoston; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and -nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
