Another man from Pearl River County was found shot to death in New Orleans earlier this week.
New Orleans City Coroner Dr. Jeffrey C. Rouse issued a statement identifying the victim as Henry Varnado, 36, from Carriere.
Rouse stated in the release that the cause of death was multiple gun shot wounds.
The New Orleans Police Department responded to the call at a house on the 1300 block of Teche Street in Algiers, according to a press release from NOPD.
After finding Varnado lying on the floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, NOPD officers pronounced him dead on the scene, states the release.
According to Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker, Varnado has an “extensive record” of arrests.
The investigation into his death is ongoing.
Previous coverage states two other men with ties to the area have been found dead in surrounding areas earlier this month.
The first case involved Matthew Spooner, 35, who was shot and killed in New Orleans on July 6.
The second case involved Jeremy Paul Fountain, 35, who was found dead in the Shoreline Park area of Waveland on July 11.
According to previous coverage, the Waveland Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Drew Daniel Bourgeois who was arrested in Jefferson Parish on July 14 for Fountain’s murder.
Waveland Police Department Chief David Allen said they were working with the NOPD’s Homicide Division because of a possible connection between the two deaths, according to previous coverage.
It is unclear at this time if all three cases are connected.
