OBIT Robert Blackie Burnett

“It’s in my heart to serve the Lord.”
Mr. Robert Lee Burnett was born on August 9, 1958 in Picayune, MS to Eula Pearson Burnett Anderson and the late Johnnie Burnett, Jr.
Robert was fondly known as “Blackie” by many of his family and friends. He began his earthly career at the tender age of 17 for the Wood Treatment Plant until the business closed and later the City of Picayune, who fondly referred to him as the “weed eater man.” He was employed for both over a decade.
On Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Highland Community Hospital, God put his arms around him and lifted him to rest in his garden to continue taking care of heaven’s land.
Robert’s bright spirit will be lovingly remembered by his devoted mother, Mrs. Eula Pearson Burnett Anderson; five caring sisters, Loretta Stubbs of Picayune, MS, Lessie (Greg) Washington of Portland, OR, Dorothy Hathorne, Mae Berry, and Flora Stean Burnett all of Picayune, MS; and one caring brother, Chester Burnett of Portland, OR.
Funeral services will be held at Parker Chapel Baptist Church in Cybur, MS on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Tommy Hart will officiate at the service. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Parker Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home (601) 798-4469.
