A two-vehicle accident sent one man to the hospital.
On Sunday, June 7 at 6 p.m., officers from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department responded to Rayburn Road near Richard Johnson Road in Carriere regarding the two-vehicle accident, Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.
Through their investigation, the department determined a Ford F-150 was southbound on Rayburn Road where it appeared to have veered off the roadway and lost control, causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times before striking a Ford Mustang traveling northbound on Rayburn Road, Tucker said.
The driver of the F-150 was identified as 26-year-old Devon Folse of Covered Bridge Road in Carriere. He suffered severe injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital, where his condition remains unknown, Tucker said.
The driver of the Ford Mustang was identified as 42-year-old John Jones of Rayburn Road in Carriere. Jones didn’t require medical attention as a result of the accident, Tucker said.
Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage said he has not heard about Folse passing away as a result of his injuries.
