Funeral Services for Bennie Lumpkin, 84, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014, will be held Monday, July 7, 2014, at 12 p.m. at George Ford Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Monday, July 7, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at George Ford Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in George Ford Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Elder Donnie Broom will officiate the service.
A long time resident of Carriere, he was a Retired Sargent in the United States Army. Bennie was an active member of George Ford Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, who will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Bennie Lumpkin Sr. and Bonnie Wilson Lumpkin.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Taylor Lumpkin; his daughters, Linda Murdock and husband Gene, Shirley Murphy and husband Eldon, Edna Schommer and husband Edward, Brenda Ruiz and husband Paul, and Peggy Fortenberry and husband Kenny; his 11 grandchildren: Jeffery, Jennifer, Justin, Daniel, Adam, Eddie, Regina, Courtney, Will, Paul, and Kristy; his 18 great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Gloria and Rita; and his three brothers, Almond, Karen, and W.B.
