Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church for Marlene Merrick Evans, 71, of Picayune, formerly of Bay St. Louis, who passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at her residence.

Father Michael Snyder will officiate at the service.

Burial was in Eula Cemetery in Clyde, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy D. and Goldie Anna Hasha Merrick.

Survivors include: three daughters, Marlana Evans Barousse of Carriere, Cathy Rogers of Tyler, Texas, and D’Anna Schembri of Citrus Heights, Calif.; two sons, Stephen Permenter of Tyler, Michael Permenter of Elzabethon, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Jimmy Merrick of Kerrville, Texas.
