The Northeast Mississippi Business Incubator wants money to improve its electrical, heating and air systems, but the officials aren’t ready to make the funds available.

Corinth aldermen tabled a request for the money and recommended that officials seek stimulus funding.

Incubator Executive Director Ray McClelland said a contractor quoted a price of about $2,000. But city building inspector Philip Verdung believes more extensive work is needed at a cost of about $5,600.

The incubator is jointly operated by Corinth and Alcorn County. While the county annually budgets a specific dollar amount to support the incubator, the city has generally said it would be responsible for maintenance and upkeep.
