New Hattiesburg schools chief starts Feb. 15

New Hattiesburg schools superintendent James Bacchus will start his new job Feb. 15.
The Hattiesburg American reports his salary will be $150,000 a year.
Former superintendent Annie Wimbish made $161,000 a year. She resigned on June 30.
Bacchus was chosen by the school board from a field of 28 candidates after a six-month search.
He is currently chief of student support for Memphis City Schools.
