A Leflore County man is in jail on a charge of murder in the fatal stabbing of a Greenwood man earlier this week.
Louis Bledsoe was arrested after allegedly stabbing to death George Tyler, 31, during a violent fight, Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks said.
The fight resulted from a long-standing disagreement between the two. Banks said witnesses saw Tyler, 31, hit Bledsoe, 34, with a baseball bat before being stabbed.
“Bledsoe was going with Tyler’s sister,” Banks said. “They’ve had problems in the past.”
Tyler survived the attack, which left him with five stab wounds to the chest area, but died later at the hospital.
Authorities said they interviewed 10 witnesses to the fight.
“We have not found the knife,” Banks said. “We did recover the baseball bat that supposedly Tyler hit Bledsoe with.”
