McComb’s Board of Selectmen has refused to pay $73,838 in legal fees sought by an attorney who won a case that challenged David Myers’ serving in the Legislature and on the city board.
Board members say attorney Norman Gillis Junior, who claimed to have represented the city in the case, pursued the case on his own.
Gillis says he was hired to pursue the case to its conclusion.
Myers gave up his seat on the city board in McComb. He remains a member of the Mississippi House.
