The Rev. Samuel M. Burton Sr.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. at East Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1124 Jerusalem Ave. in Picayune for the Rev. Samuel M. Burton Sr., 79, of Pearlington, Miss., who died Sunday, January 28, 2007 in Pearlington.

Burial will be in the Pearlington Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A native of Pearlington he was a retired pastor and was a member of the Holmes Chapel United Methodist Church in McClain, Miss., the Little Creek United Methodist Church in Beaumont, Miss., and Merriel Chapel United Methodist Church of McClain.

Survivors include: one daughter, Aquanetta Burton Osborn of Carriere; two sons, Samuel M. Burton Jr. of Slidell, La.; and Lawrence M. Burton of Austin, Texas; one sister, Shirley Acker of Pearlington; two brothers, the Rev. Louis Burton of Picayune; and Charles Burton of Pearlington; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Baylous Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2007 from 10-11 a.m. in East Jerusalem Baptist Church.
