Funeral Services for John Teddy Finch, age 95, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. John McCay will officiate the service.
A native of Scott County, Va., joined the United States Army in 1946 and retired after 26 years. Ted worked 17 years before retirement serving 14 years overseas. He was stationed in Manila, Phillipines, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, France and Germany. Awarded Bronze Medal, Army Commendation Medal, 9 Battle Stars, 8 Good Conduct Awards and many other awards. He did three tours during his time in the Army, two in Korea and one in Vietnam. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry B. Finch, and Nora Lucas Finch; son, Teddy Ray Finch; daughter, Monissa Michelle Walker; brother, Troy B. Finch; sister, Elsie Kilgore; sister, Fredia Collins, sister; Zelma Hicks; sister, Linda Starnes, and sister, Patsy Compton.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ronald (Cindy) Finch; son, John Gregory (Maria) Finch; daughter, Deborah Lee Schuck; stepdaughter, Eileen Hamblein; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxie Castle and Angie Bell Spivey, numerous nieces and nephews.
