Three individuals face drug charges after Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant Friday at a residence on Augusta Drive in Carriere.
According to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office, Narcotics Unit and Patrol Division members carried out the warrant on March 28. During the search, investigators located approximately eight pounds of marijuana and marijuana products inside the home, including wax made from marijuana.
Aaron Pohlmann, 28, was found inside the residence and was arrested at the scene. He was charged with trafficking marijuana.
Investigators later identified two additional residents of the home: McKayla O’Brien, 25, and Austin Swann, 25. O’Brien was arrested at the Pearl River County Criminal Justice Facility and charged with felony possession of THC (wax). An arrest warrant will be issued for Swann, who will also face a felony possession of THC (wax) charge.
Deputies believe the marijuana was shipped into Mississippi from another state and disguised as hemp. While hemp is legal in Mississippi, it must contain no more than 0.3% THC—the psychoactive compound found in marijuana.
The investigation is ongoing.
