Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Pilgrim Bound Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. The Rev. Henry S. Marshall, Pastor will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery.
Demetrious Jarrell Mitchell was born on June 22, 1996 to Arie Holloway and Herbert Joey Mitchell in Picayune, Miss. Demetrious departed his earthly life on Feb. 17, 2025 at his home in Picayune, Miss.
Demetrious attended Picayune Memorial High School and received his GED in 2014. He worked many odd jobs until his health began to fail. He joined Pilgrim Bound Missionary Baptist Church in 2022 under the leadership of the Rev. Henry Marshall and attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Elder Harvey Benard.
Demetrious was well known throughout the community as “Toon” and “Montana Meechie” by countless people who knew him. He enjoyed writing music and rapping. Demetrious had many challenges in his life but he kept moving and encouraging himself in the Lord. Demetrious was a very intellectual young man. He was fun, loving, and a jokester to all he came in contact with.
On Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 God sent his loving angels to his resident to bring him home to be at peace at the age of 28.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frenchie Bell and Horace Jenkins; four uncles, Larry Bell, Earl Bell, J.R Bell Jr., and Phillip “Uncle Bubba” Bonds.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his precious memories, mother, Arie (Joseph) Holloway; father, Herbert Joey Mitchell; two sisters, Shamiah Bridges and Zy’Yunna Mitchell; three brothers, Solomon Mitchell, Joseph Tyner and Jomar Tyner; one God-brother, Coby Harper; two aunts, Linda (Luke) Stallings and Barbara (Dale) Acker; one nephew, Kyaire Mitchell and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will all sadly miss his presence.
