PRCSO Announces November DUI Arrests, Urges Caution Ahead of Holidays

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office (PRCSO) has released its DUI arrest report for November, highlighting cases involving impaired driving and other related offenses. Officials are urging residents to prioritize safety as the holiday season approaches.
“We urge everyone to make responsible choices: drive sober, get a ride, or stay home,” said a PRCSO representative. “Don’t put yourself or others at risk.”
Summary of November DUI Arrests
- Nov. 4: Deputies assisted Picayune Police with a suspected intoxicated driver. Michael Shaw Adams, 35, was arrested for first-offense DUI, possession of a controlled substance, and a second offense for controlled substance possession. A search revealed marijuana and paraphernalia.
- Nov. 5: Chelsea Holland, 31, was stopped for reckless driving on Oak Hill Road. She refused a preliminary breath test but later registered a 0.20 blood alcohol content (BAC) at the jail. She was charged with first offense DUI.
- Nov. 6: Larry Tate, 31, was stopped at a McNeill Steep Hollow Road safety checkpoint. Deputies discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Tate was charged with first-offense DUI, controlled substance violations, driving with a suspended license, and no insurance.
- Nov. 8: Tarik Ragas, 19, admitted to smoking marijuana while driving on Interstate 59. He was charged with first offense DUI and possession of marijuana.
- Nov. 10:
- Morning: Shelby Buffington, 46, was stopped on Old Kiln Road for careless driving. A search revealed methamphetamine and a glass pipe, resulting in charges for DUI, controlled substance violations, and other traffic offenses.
- Evening: Michael Smith, 53, admitted to drinking five beers earlier in the day after deputies stopped him for swerving. He registered a 0.09 BAC and was charged with first offense DUI.
- Nov. 13: Emily Jefcoat, 25, was involved in a single-vehicle accident. Deputies noted signs of intoxication and arrested her for first-offense DUI following a blood draw.
- Nov. 14: Frank Buckley, 32, was stopped in Poplarville for swerving into oncoming traffic. Both Buckley and his passenger, who had outstanding warrants, admitted to recent drug use. Buckley was charged with first-offense DUI, controlled substance violations, and other crimes.
- Nov. 17: Brian Dorion, 32, was stopped after swerving into oncoming traffic. Deputies observed signs of alcohol impairment, and a BAC test later confirmed a 0.16 reading. He was charged with first offense DUI.
- Nov. 18 and Nov. 24: Sheri Thompson, 53, was arrested twice in November for DUI. On Nov. 18, deputies stopped her for reckless driving and noted signs of drug use. On Nov. 24, she was stopped for driving without headlights. When deputies attempted to arrest her, she resisted, resulting in additional charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing arrest.
- Nov. 25: Natasha Roberts, 40, was stopped for a mismatched license plate. A BAC test confirmed alcohol impairment, and a search revealed empty alcohol containers. She was charged with offense DUI and multiple traffic violations.
