Funeral Services for Mark Edward Thorman, age 74, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at 1 p.m. at New Palestine Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at New Palestine Baptist Church.

Arrangements under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Belleville, Ill., he was a retired US Navy Chief serving from 1972 to 1993 and a retired NJROTC Chief Instructor with Picayune Memorial High School from 1994 to 2016. He also served the Picayune Community as a City Councilman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamala Burroughs Thorman; parents, Hurley Jack Thorman and Georgiana Nagle Thorman; son, Jason Everard Thorman; brother, Hurley Jack Thorman Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Joseph Edward Thorman and Mary Beth; grandsons, Jeremy Thorman and Ray Thorman; sisters, Judy Newsome and husband, Don and Joy Lumpkin, and husband, Doug; sister-in-law, Verliene Thorman, and many nieces and nephews.
