Anita Claire Lott

Anita Claire Lott, 90, of Picayune, Miss. went into eternal rest on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024.
Anita was born on April 1, 1934, in New Orleans, La. to parents Frank Guinn and Willie Hutto Guinn. She grew up in New Orleans, graduating from John McDonogh High School and Touro Infirmary School of Nursing. She retired from nursing in 1994 after nearly 40 years of dedicated service to nursing but continued her nursing duties to friends, neighbors, and in volunteer work. She married Bayard Lamar (B.L.) Lott in the early 1960’s and was his nurse and caregiver during his extended illness until his death in 2022.
Anita enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home in earlier years, volunteered at the Picayune animal shelter, loved relaxing in her sunroom with her cats, and was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and participating in many of the church groups.
She is preceded in death by her husband, and older brother, Thomas Guinn of Panama City, Fla.
Anita’s memory will be cherished by her son, Lamar Lott of Brandon, Mo.; stepson, Larry Lott of Columbia, S.C.; step-daughter, Jeanette Browder of Brandon, Miss.; sisters, Vivian Senn of Picayune, Miss., Joan Roy of Picayune, Miss., and Sue Wondersek of Staunton, W.V.; brother, Robet Guinn of Jena, La.; grandchildren, Mackenzie Claire Lott of Brandon, Miss., Mitchell Lott of Brandon, Miss., Alex Lott of Columbia, S.C., Jenna Clark of Flowood, Miss., and Jeb Browder of Birmingham, Ala.
A memorial service for Anita will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 3021 The Wds Rd. Picayune, MS 39466 at 10 a.m. on Oct. 26.
