Poplarville residents and shoppers can find a line of unique cosmetics at KCB Cosmetics, located at 412 S. Main Street.

Uaketha Bonner and her husband Raymond opened the store in her hometown back in March of this year. She said it was part of her lifelong dream to have her own business so she could be her own boss.

“Something I’ve always wanted to do was work for myself,” Bonner said.

Three years prior to opening the store, Bonner started selling her cosmetics online through her website, which she continues to this day. But by opening a brick and mortar location, she can now offer more products.

The lip gloss and eye shadow she stocks are custom made to her specifications by a supplier using her own formulas, Bonner said. She also offers mink eyelashes and lip balm.

Other products in her store include purses, sunglasses, custom made shirts, jewelry, hand made soaps, accessories and clothing. Products from Royal Relaxations out of Poplarville are also available for purchase at KCB Cosmetics.

She said she is looking into including even more products in the future.

Prior to starting KCB Cosmetics, Bonner said she made and sold wreaths and gift baskets.
