Women and men can have their waxing and esthetic care needs met in Picayune with the recent opening of Madéli’s Waxing and Esthetics, LLC.
Owner and operator Meghan Pomes said that she opened the business two months ago, located at 601 West Canal St. in Picayune, to fill an unmet need.
As the name implies, her business aims to meet the self-care needs of women and men who want their skin to look its best.
She specializes in waxing for women and men.
She also provides facial, brow and lash services and offers body scrubs. For the woman who is looking for eyelashes with character, Pomes can provide them with lash perms, which can last as long as two months.
While she doesn’t offer massage therapy, she said that facials do include a light face massage that adds to the guest’s relaxation.
In the future, she plans to add facials for men, since many men are also looking for skin that is free of blemishes and has even pigmentation. She is also looking into adding skin treatment for a guest’s back to help the skin become clear of acne and blemishes.
Customers who may have a faded tattoo could benefit from the tattoo waxing service. She said that the procedure removes the dead skin cells to reveal a brighter tattoo.
Every product she uses on her guests has been tested to ensure it meets her standards.
“I don’t put anything on my guests that I don’t use myself,” Pomes said.
Another service she is researching is micro blading, which creates semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement.
Pomes is licensed in Mississippi and Louisiana, and said that she prides herself on taking the proper amount of time with her guests to give them the best results and extends every effort to ensure her facility and equipment is sanitary.
Her business offers a 10 percent discount to teachers and members of law enforcement.
Even though she’s the only employee at the moment, she also plans to add another two or three more estheticians, a massage therapist and a manicurist within the next year or two.
Her business is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
While she prefers appointments, if she has an open time slot she will happily accept walk-ins. Appointments can be made by calling 769-242-2662, visiting the Facebook page, or through the Vagaro application.
