Variety found at Kathryn’s Stop & Shop

Along West Canal Street in downtown Picayune is a store that sells a variety of items.
Kathryn’s Stop & Shop opened its doors a week ago, and is located at 220 B West Canal St.
Owner and operator Kathryn Troglen said she first had the idea to open her own store about three years ago. And once she found a location she liked, she opened the doors.
Within the walls of her business, customers can find items ranging from clothing, candy, snacks, jewelry and decorations for the home.
Some of the stock she carries includes shoes designed for use in the water, T-shirts with local school district logos for kids, dresses, leggings, sandals, scented oil burners with on and off switches and vases with floral arrangements.
Troglen said she offers a special on her jewelry through a card-punching program. If a customer buys 12 jewelry items, they get the next one free with a punched card.
She also has items for the kids, such as games and wall art.
Her plan is to see what sells the best, and rotate the rest of the stock out to keep her customers coming back.
Kathryn’s Stop & Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached by calling 769-242-2199.
