Armed robbery in Picayune – detectives still looking for suspects

According to a departmental release, an armed robbery took place in Picayune on Sunday. The suspects are still being sought.

According to the release, at about 11:30 Sunday morning Picayune Police officers received a call that a man had been robbed at a local car wash on Highway 11 in Picayune. The victim told officers that he pulled into the car wash and got out to wash his car. When he exited his vehicle, a white man with a sawed-off shotgun came up to the victim and told him to hand over his belongings, the release states. After the victim was approached by the first man, another white man holding a pistol at his waist approached and demanded the same thing, the release states.

The victim told officers that he gave the men a money clip that had about $120 in cash and several credit/debit cards. After he handed over his money, the two men fled and got into a relatively new 4-door silver/gray sedan suspected to be a Nissan, the release states. The vehicle was being driven by a white female. After the men got into the vehicle, they fled north on Highway 11, the release states.

According to the release, the victim and other witnesses described one man as tall and skinny with brown hair, bad teeth and tattoos down both arms.

The other was short and skinny with blonde hair, cut in a fade style, the release states.

Witnesses described the men as being in their 20s or 30s. No additional description was given of the driver, the release states.

According to the release, detectives are still investigating the incident and looking into various leads.
