Three Arrested in Separate Drug-Related Traffic Stops in Pearl River County

According to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, three individuals were arrested in separate traffic stops last week, each facing drug-related charges.
On Friday, March 28, around 5:30 p.m., patrol deputies stopped a Nissan sedan in the 800 block of Rock Ranch Road in Carriere. The driver was identified as Jerion Underwood, 22, of Nicholson, and the passenger as Timothy Jordan, 27, of Carriere.
Deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and discovered individually packaged marijuana. Following an investigation, Jordan was determined to be in possession of the marijuana with the intent to distribute, officials said.
Underwood was arrested and booked into the Pearl River County Jail on charges of possession of paraphernalia and conspiracy to distribute marijuana. Jordan was booked on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
In a separate incident on Wednesday, April 2, at around 3:45 p.m., narcotics investigators conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Jackson Landing Road and Highway 11. The driver, identified as Benjamin Galatas, 32, of Nicholson, was pulled over for a traffic violation.
A search of Galatas’ vehicle led to the discovery of a distribution amount of methamphetamine concealed in a bag of RITZ Toasted Chips, authorities said.
Galatas was arrested and transported to the Pearl River County Jail. He was booked on multiple charges, including no tag, no insurance, no driver’s license, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
