Residents at Bedford Care Center received a heartwarming visit this Easter season from the Picayune Police Department and Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, who stopped by with thoughtful gifts and smiles to share.
The visit, which has become a spring tradition, brought joy and comfort to residents and staff alike. Officers delivered Easter gifts and spent time with residents, creating memorable moments that were deeply appreciated by all.
“We are beyond grateful for the thoughtful Easter gifts you shared with our residents,” Bedford Care Center staff said. “Your kindness and generosity truly brightened their day. Our residents and staff deeply appreciate all you do to make our community feel safe, cared for, and valued.”
Police Chief Joe Quave said the department is committed to building lasting relationships with community members.
“We are always looking for ways to create and maintain relationships with people in the community,” Quave said. “Captain Milar has organized the event with local nursing homes the last few years in the spring, whether it be around Valentine’s Day or Easter.”
Quave added that the visits are as meaningful for officers as for residents.
“It’s another way for us to connect with people and remind them they are important to us,” he said. “It’s a treat to us to see the smile on their faces and the joy it brings them.”
Bedford Care Center staff called the visit an example of the compassion and dedication local law enforcement brings to the community “every single day.”
