With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Lucille Elizabeth Lee, who departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the age of 91. Lucille was a woman of unwavering faith, deep compassion, and boundless love. She was a cherished matriarch, a pillar of strength to her family, and a beacon of grace in her community.

Lucille’s life was a living testimony to her profound love for God and her dedication to Christian service. As the oldest active member of Lee’s Chapel No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church in the Leetown Community of North Hancock County, she served faithfully as the elder deacon’s wife, a beloved Sunday School teacher for both youth and women, and as a leader of the church’s prayer chain ministry. Her spiritual guidance and steadfast devotion left an indelible mark on the lives of many across generations.

A proud homemaker and nurturing soul, Lucille poured her heart into caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known for her unconditional love, listening ear, warm embrace, and quiet wisdom. In her earlier years, Lucille also worked as a skilled seamstress at Pass Christian Industries, a well-known clothing manufacturer along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawson “Pete” Lee; her parents, Simon and Leander Bounds; her daughter, Wanda Gail Lee; her grandson, Alex Lee, and her sisters, Bertha Lee Fleming, Alberta Whitfield, and Agnes Fleming.

Lucille leaves behind a legacy of love and faith in her devoted family, her children, Pamela Lee (Gene) Stenum and Gary (Renae) Lee; her grandchildren, Beki (Jack) Ferrill, Billy (Jamie) Donelson, Chase Lee, and Kimberly (Bobby) Lewis; her great-granddaughter, Eden Hill; her great-great-granddaughters, Charlie and Peyton Hill, and sisters, Lou Ella Runnels and Rita Thames.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lucille’s life at Lee’s Chapel No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church, 27015 Leetown Road, Picayune, MS 39466. Visitation will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by funeral at 12 p.m. and graveside services.

Lucille’s enduring legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
