Poplarville Woman Injured in Fatal Crash in Oregon

A Poplarville woman was injured in a three-vehicle crash that left one dead and another seriously hurt Friday evening on Highway 18 in Oregon in Lincoln County.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:22 p.m. near milepost 9, according to the Oregon State Police.|

Authorities said Mark Joseph Sutherland, 64, of Portland, was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 when he veered into oncoming traffic. The Dodge sideswiped a Toyota Rav4 operated by Tayler Harrell, 27, of Poplarville, before colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Brandon Lavon Gilman, 34, of Willamina.

Sutherland was pronounced dead at the scene. Harrell sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Gilman suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a medical center by LifeFlight.
