Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2205 at 1 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ with visitation one hour prior to service time. Elder David Simmons is Pastor. Elder Ronald Victor will officiate at the service assisted by Elder David Brumfield.
Desmond Lashay Honeycutt was born July 14, 1965 to the late Edward Charles Magee and Ada Honeycutt Magee.
Desmond “Shay” departed his earthly life on March 14, 2025 in New Orleans, La. at the age of 59. Shay was the oldest of four children; two brothers, Eric and Michael Magee of Picayune, Miss. and one sister, Melissa Magee of Grand Rapid, Mich. He will be truly missed in this community.
Shay married Pricilla Victor Honeycutt in October 1986; in this union five children were born, Christopher Victor and Amanda (Aremando) Elliott of Bay St. Louis, Miss., Ada (Corey) Cooper and Shamile Honeycutt of Slidell, La. and Shavonne Honeycutt of New Orleans, La.; 16 grandchildren; father in-law, Elder Ronald (Mary) Victor of Picayune, Miss.; two special aunts, Sheila Williams of Gulfport, Miss. and Pricilla (Lloyd) Alston of Denver, Colo.; one uncle, Fredrick McCastile; six sister-in-laws, LaTanya Victor, Paakiki Victor, Onekki Victor, Carey Victor, Adar Victor and Audrey Victor; two brother-in-laws, Thomas Victor and Mitchell Victor, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery.
