The Picayune Maroon Tide will face the George County Rebels on Friday at 7 p.m. Picayune enters the matchup with a 10-2 record and looks to extend its winning streak against George County, having gone 5-0 in their meetings since October 2014.
Picayune secured its place in the playoffs with a dominant 48-7 win over Pearl River Central last week. The Maroon Tide established control early, building a 42-7 lead by halftime. The team’s ground game and defense contributed significantly to the victory, continuing their consistent performances throughout the season.
The last time these teams met, on November 1, Picayune won 27-20. The Maroon Tide defense will again need to focus on limiting the impact of George County quarterback Deuce Knight, who was a critical factor in the previous matchup.
Picayune also aims to extend its ten-game road winning streak, which began last season. With a strong record and momentum from recent performances, the Maroon Tide is set to continue its postseason push.
