Picayune Maroon Tide to Face Pearl River Central Blue Devils on Friday

The Picayune Maroon Tide (9-2) will look to extend their dominance over Pearl River Central (2-7) this Friday, hosting the Blue Devils at 7 p.m. Picayune holds a commanding 9-1 record against Pearl River Central since September 2014 and aims to build on that success in front of a home crowd.
The two teams come into the matchup on starkly different paths. Picayune rides a seven-game winning streak, while Pearl River Central has dropped three straight. Yet, as game time nears, records and recent struggles mean little once the teams are on the field.
Last week, Picayune took care of business against Hancock with a 35-17 victory. After a dominant first half, the Maroon Tide’s offense slowed, but their early lead secured the win. The victory also marked Picayune’s tenth consecutive road win, as they’ve averaged 39 points per game in that stretch.
Pearl River Central, meanwhile, fell to West Jones 20-7 last Friday. Despite the loss, the team aims to regroup as they head into the rivalry game.
Picayune last faced Pearl River Central in September 2022, when they claimed a decisive 49-7 victory.
