Pearl River County Board of Supervisors Takes Bids Under Advisement

During its recent meeting, the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors reviewed bids for multiple projects. All completed bids were accepted and taken under advisement. The projects, which range from local road safety improvements to industrial site development, aim to enhance the county’s infrastructure.
Striping Project
One bid was received for the Pearl River County Local Roads Safety Improvements Project during a 10 a.m. bid opening. JL McCool Contractors submitted a base bid of $2,596,406.50, with additional options bringing the total bid to $3,425,994.50. The project includes safety upgrades such as signage, striping, audible edge stripes, fog sealing, guard rails, and shoulder grading on various local roads.
Industrial Park Projects
Three separate projects for the Pearl River County Industrial Park also received bids:
- Grade, Drain, and Base Project:
The 2 p.m. bid opening included grading ±35.5 acres and installing drainage systems, box culverts, and roadway bases. Seven bids were received, with one rejected due to irregularities. R&J Construction, Inc. submitted the lowest bid, $2,051,201.78, while the highest bid was $3,798,843. The Gulf Coast Restoration Fund and the Select Site—MDA Site Development Grant Award support funding for this project. - Highway 26 Pavement Widening:
This project involves lane widening, milling, overlaying, guard rail replacement, and box culvert extensions to improve access to the industrial site. Five bids were opened at 11 a.m., with Holliday Construction, LLC submitting the lowest bid of $1,094,560.86. The highest bid reached $1,561,846.23. Funding is partially provided through the Select Site—MDA Site Development Grant Award.
Next Steps
The Board approved a motion to accept all completed bids and take them under advisement. Once reviewed, a decision on awarding contracts will be made.
These infrastructure projects are expected to significantly enhance transportation safety and industrial site readiness in Pearl River County. As decisions are finalized, further updates will be released.
