Picayune Prepares to Host George County, Looks to Extend Winning Streak

The Picayune Maroon Tide, riding a five-game winning streak, will look to continue their successful run against George County when the Rebels visit Friday at 7 p.m. Picayune has maintained an undefeated record against George County since October 2014, winning four consecutive games in the matchup.

Picayune comes into the game on the heels of their most decisive victory of the season, a commanding 49-7 win over Long Beach last Friday.

George County, currently at 6-3, is also heating up, coming off a high-scoring 68-49 victory over West Harrison. Quarterback Deuce Knight showcased his versatility with a standout performance, throwing for 538 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes. Knight also added 113 rushing yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.  Brenn Moody emerged as Knight’s top receiver, racking up 220 yards and three touchdowns.

George County’s defense showed resilience, forcing two fumbles against West Harrison. Dimitrios Chelmis and Kohl Bradley each stripped the ball to secure turnovers, while Blaine Green led the defense with 15 tackles.
