Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Hosts Quarterly Awards, Honors Deputies and Citizens for Outstanding Service

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department held its Fourth Quarterly Awards on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, recognizing outstanding performance among its employees and honoring two local citizens’ assistance in law enforcement efforts.

Cpl. Sean Speights was honored by Gov. Tate Reeves for his work as the department’s DUI Patrol Deputy, earning recognition through the DUI 100 Club. Sgt. David Bean was named Deputy of the Quarter, while C/O Mekio Alonzo was recognized as the Corrections Officer of the Quarter. Records Clerk Rachel Lagrange received the Professional Support Employee Award.

Letters of Recognition were also awarded to Deputies Chuck Simmons and Michael Landrum and local citizens Kaden Beckham and Mason Duchmann. Beckham and Duchmann were commended for helping a deputy apprehend a dangerous suspect who attempted to flee earlier in the quarter.
