Pearl River Central High School will hold the school’s first-ever “Community Pep Rally Night” on Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the school campus near the PRC soccer practice field. The event will feature fun for the whole family. It will include several food trucks and performances by the PRC Blue Angels, Blue Devil Cheerleaders, and Blue Brigade band. There will be games and activities for kids, including a bounce house, corn hole, cake walk, face painting, and the always-popular musical chairs.
The night will be capped with a bonfire.
PRC Lead Teacher Devin DeHarde is one of the event’s main organizers. “I would love for this to become a tradition that students and families can look forward to year after year,” DeHarde said.
One goal of the Pep Rally is to get the community fired up about the Blue Devils’ home football game against the Terry Bulldogs the following night. The Blue Devils are red-hot, coming into the game on a two-game winning streak which has seen the team put 91 points on the scoreboard. Both of those wins came on the road, a 56-35 victory over Bay and a 35-20 decision over Forest Hill in Jackson. Now, the Devils will try to stretch their winning streak to three and remain atop the district standings.
Kickoff between the Blue Devils and the Bulldogs is Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Hendrix Stadium.
