Detectives from the Picayune Police Department’s Special Operations Division recovered a stolen trailer during a routine traffic stop Thursday afternoon. The stop occurred on Telly Road near South Haugh Avenue, where officers pulled over a Chevy Tahoe pulling a trailer for traffic violations.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the trailer had been reported stolen from Bay County, Florida, in 2020. The department stated that it is not believed the driver was aware of the theft; however, the investigation remains ongoing.

“We commend the detectives who located this stolen property and are assisting in returning it to its rightful owner,” said Picayune Police Chief Joe Quave. “Our officers work diligently to address all matters of criminal activity and, when possible, assist with the location and return of property.”
