The City of Poplarville has announced a special election to fill a vacant seat on the Board of Aldermen, set to take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024. The election follows the resignation of Alderman Kevin L. Tillman, Sr., who stepped down due to ongoing medical issues that have affected his ability to serve.

In his resignation letter, Tillman cited “continuing medical issues with which I have been confronted over the past 12 months and which are not resolving.” He also noted that these health issues have prevented him from fulfilling his duties as an elected official.

The election will be held at Poplarville City Hall, with polling hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All qualified electors of the city are eligible to vote.
