Picayune Police Arrest Multiple Suspects in Drug and Assault Incidents

The Picayune Police Department made several arrests between Aug. 19 and Aug. 22 following investigations related to aggravated assault and drug possession.

Aggravated Assault on South Beech Street

On Aug. 19, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., officers and detectives responded to a business on South Beech Street regarding an aggravated assault. The investigation determined that a verbal confrontation occurred between the victim and Adrian McCray. The victim reported that McCray displayed a firearm, prompting the victim to leave in his vehicle. While driving away, the victim heard a gunshot and noticed the rear window of his car had been shattered.

Officers were provided descriptions of the suspect, his vehicle, and a passenger. The suspect’s vehicle and a firearm were located at an address on Pinewood Drive. Christian McDowell, found at the location, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact and hindering prosecution. Adrian McCray was located on Lilac Drive and arrested on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Drug Arrests Following Search Warrants and Traffic Stop

On Aug. 20, 2024, detectives with the Picayune Police Department Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at the residence of Kelvin Lamont Miller. The search led to the recovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, pressed fentanyl pills, and distribution-related paraphernalia in Miller’s bedroom. A firearm was also found. Miller was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a church and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Alexis Wynne Stockstill, who was present, was charged with the same offenses.

On Aug. 22, 2024, detectives conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Camaro for traffic violations. During the stop, officers observed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a glass pipe in plain view inside the vehicle. The driver, Brittney Nicole Comeaux, and the passenger, James Bosetto Penton, were both charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Later that day, detectives executed a search warrant on East Canal Street. During the search, they found methamphetamine in several containers. Jonathan Eric Everett, Ariel Ann Hill, and Shana Donella Sanderson were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
