Mayor Swears in 2024-2025 Mayor’s Youth Council

On Monday, Mayor Jim Luke swore in the 2024-2025 Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) during a ceremony held at City Hall.

Mayor Luke outlined the council’s achievements over the past three years. He reported that in its first year, the council awarded over $5,000 in scholarships, which increased to over $7,000 in the second year. For the current year, the goal is to provide over $10,000 in scholarships.

He noted the council’s rigorous selection process and acknowledged the commitment of the new members. He also mentioned that the previous council received three state awards for their work.

Lisa Albritton, Special Projects Director, announced the elected positions for the MYC:

  • Lisa Albritton as MYC Mayor
  • Jasmine Nixon, Hedi Hill, and Ashton Smith as councilmembers
  • Rebecca Dalazen as Attorney
  • Khole Davis as Communications Officer
  • Adrianna Zeno as Clerk

The council also includes members Isabella Bailey, A’marie Carter, Darian Champlin, Samara Clark, Abby Collier, Kaylee Collier, Jackson Culp, Ja’Niyah Ducre, Julia Ervin, Rhyen Goss, Ci’kya Hart, Holly Hill, Angeleena Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Khloe Keys, Jade Lamb, Seanna Lewis, DaSarah Littles, Heaven Moran, Madelyn Moreaux, Jasmine Nixon, Antonella Orozco, Claire Quave, Braelyn Spell, Addison Taggard, Victoria Vloedman, Megan Wade, and Presley Wells.
