Funeral service will be held for Carl Elwin Lather, Saturday July 27, 2024 at 11 a.m., visitation from 10 a.m., until 11 a.m., at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ, 500 North Beech Street, Picayune, Miss., who passed away peacefully at Specialty Select Hospital in Gulfport, Miss., July 18, 2024. A native of Picayune, Miss., Pastor Elder Simmons will officiating.

Carl was born on Sept. 4, 1958 in Laurel, Miss., to the late Troy and Lou Ella “Dear” Lather.  Carl was a member  of Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deneice Lather; parents, Mr. Troy and Mrs. Lou Ella Lather; three sisters, Brenda J. Lather, Susan Scott, and Faye Lather; five brothers, Vernill Wilbert, Donald Lather, Troy E. Lather, Darryl Lather, and Ray Lather, a daughter-in-law Emily Lather.

He leaves to mourn his passing; three sons, Carl Jr., Matthew, and Corey Lather all of San Francisco, Calif., eight siblings, Troy Jordan (Marie), Humble Texas, Evelyn B. Brooks, Doris Buckley, James Roche (Simone), and Linda Lather all of Picayune, Miss., Sandra Benson (Leon), of Camden, Md., Michael Lather of Fremont, Ohio, and Jeffery B. Lather of Oakland, Calif., grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Burial in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Baylous funeral Home.
