Jimmy Carlos James was born Aug. 27, 1959, in Bogalusa, La. to Alice James Kelley and to the late Willie Doug Jones. His family raised him up in Picayune, Miss. After high school he joined the United States Army and returned home. He was employed as a contractor worker. His coworker, neighbors and friends loved Jimmy and his humor.
He was fondly known as “Peanut.”
On Thursday, June 13, 2024, Jimmy Carlos James, age 64, transitioned home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jimmy Carlos was preceded in death by his father, Willie Doug Jones; brothers, Isaac Jones, Willie Earl James, Don James, Willie Ray Jones and Charles Jones; sister, Barbara Barnes; nephews, Ronnie James; cousins, Earnest Price, and James Price.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving and devoted mother, Alice James Kelley; two sisters, Mary James and Gloria McDougle; three brothers, Wallace James, Frankie James and Ellis (Anisha) James; three special cousins, John Guy, Lavern Guy and Vernon Price.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 at St. James A.M.E. Church, 703 Jones Street, Picayune, MS 39466 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service time. The Rev.
