A Celebration of Life for Angelica Concepcion Ruiz, age 85, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, will be held at a date to be determined.
Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Angie was a native of Puerto Rico and began adult life as a flight attendant for Caribair Airlines and Eastern Airlines. She married Paul J. Ruiz in 1965, and they were blessed with two children, Paul in 1966 and Michelle in 1967. In the 1980s, Angie began a catering business, where she produced a full line of dining fare and elaborately decorated cakes. Many in Pearl River County will remember Angie as having made their wedding cakes and catered their weddings. In 2000, Angie retired and has spent much of her time enjoying the company of her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Jesus Ulloa; and her mother, Esther Umpierre Parkes.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Paul J. Ruiz; her children, Paul D. (Brenda) Ruiz, and Michelle “Mimi” (Max) Ball; her grandchildren, Daniel (Jessica) Ruiz, Nic Ruiz, Brandon Ruiz, Courtney (Miranda) and Will (Whitney) Lumpkin, Connor (Jonna) Ball, Parker Ball, and Hunter (Megan) Ball; her great grandchildren, Lydia, Amos, Jackson, Harper, Porter, Benjamin, and Hudson; her sisters, Ellen Parkes, Mariana Ulloa, Carmen Ulloa, and Ginny Ulloa; her brother, George Ulloa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
