Advanced Eye Care is marking 25 years in business, a significant milestone for the practice founded by Dr. Kraig Stasney. Originally from Slidell, Stasney moved to Picayune in 1996 and opened Picayune Family Eye Care. In 1999, he established Advanced Eye Care in Picayune to provide more comprehensive eye care services.

The practice has since expanded, opening a second location in Pearl River, Louisiana, in 2014 and upgrading the Picayune location to a new building in 2017.

Dr. Stasney attributes Advanced Eye Care’s growth to his family’s support and his staff’s efforts. His oldest brother, a physician, and his middle brother, a dentist, influenced his decision to become an optometrist. Stasney acknowledged his staff’s role in the practice’s daily operations.

He also noted the importance of the community’s support, which has enabled Advanced Eye Care to provide eye care services locally, eliminating the need for Pearl River County and Picayune residents to travel for quality care.
